Displaced Series

The Displaced series is made up of collages, overlaying our individual photographs to create a mystical world where identity and belonging are questioned. The series features central lone figures in an unnatural habitat, carrying within them a glimpse of the world they are longing to be in. The stark contrast between their inner and outer realms creates an element of tension that is muted by the vast scenery.

Shufna Collective showcased Nomad, Traveler and Wanderer in the “Post Colonialism and the Struggle for Identity” exhibition, at Minus Two Art Gallery in Lebanon (September 2021) tackling the postcolonial present and the search for identity and belonging.
